Species Notes
One of three Turkish eggs sold to the British in 1806 is an Akhal-Teke. It survived the transit in the shell back to Britain and was presumably quarantined in Ireland to prevent it contracting the Dragon Plague, following its hatching it will be expected to serve in the Aerial Corps. The name means "Celestial horse" and is given to the dragon breed maybe because it is similar to the horse breed, in fact they are noted for their speed and for endurance on long marches, and they are adapted to severe climatic conditions. The name is pronounced ahalˈtеkje in the turkmen language.
