Chanteuse

A 44 gun French frigate. Along with the Valerie and a Fleur-de-Nuit, the Chanteuse attempted to capture the HMS Allegiance in a surprise nighttime attack (see Valerie engagement). The Valerie was lost with all hands and the Chanteuse was taken as a prize.
