Durzagh

Durzagh is the dragon language spoken by Arkady and his band. Temeraire is quickly able to learn it and is very pleased that dragons have their own language (as it sets dragons apart from other animals).

Tharkay understands Durzagh and he is able to imitate the clicks and whistles used well enough to communicate with the feral dragons. But he told Temeraire that there are some sounds in Durzagh that it is impossible for men to create.

When flying across Prussia in the company of the King and Queen, Temeraire and his crew encounter another band of feral dragons that speak a language similar to Durzagh but not close enough for Temeraire to completely understand them.
