Excursius is a British dragon of unknown breed. He (or she) is probably a Regal Copper, however, as s/he is mentioned in connection with [[Laetificat]] as being a formation leader (ToJ 191). The only other bit of information we are given about Excursius is that [[John Granby]] has served on his/her crew.

Biography[edit]

Not much is known about Excursius, though presumably, he or she was a heavyweight dragon with a full crew and was a formation leader, so is probably a Regal Copper or a Longwing, but since Excursius hasn't been listed so far with the other Longwings, a Regal Copper is more likely. Excursius was part of the Mediterranean Division of the Aerial Corps, but was reassigned to the English Channel sometime after the Battle of Trafalgar. The name is derived from the Latin word for an attack or charge.

John Granby served on Excursius as a young officer.
