Felicita was a Yellow Reaper. She was sick with the dragon plague, but felt better than the other dragons. In early 1807 she had already given birth to two eggs, and despite having the dragon illness announced she had another one "in her." Jane Roland then decided she should be bred with Temeraire while he was still healthy.
Her name is nearly identical to the Italian word felicità ("happiness" or "pleasure"), which ultimately stems from the Latin felicitas ("happiness" or "luckiness").
