Biography

Fenter was known mainly for his neck-chain, which was gold and had an emerald.

Temeraire was considering urging Laurence to buy a similar neck-chain, to make up for losing his gold bars after being convicted for treason. However, Emily Roland informed Temeraire that Laurence could probably not afford such a thing, having lost all his capital in a lawsuit filed by a pair of slave-owners. Laurence was in prison at the time and could not fight the suit.

Since Temeraire was the one who had proposed the act that led to Laurence's conviction, the other dragons were rather shocked with him, and Temeraire himself felt nearly ill with guilt.
