Of all the special dragon abilities, none is more valued at wartime than fire breathing. No dragons native to Britain are capable of it so the Aerial Corps has spent a lot of money trying to procure one. They failed to bring one from the Americas, but finally succeeded when Iskierka was successfully harnessed by John Granby.
Napoleon Bonaparte has several fire breathing dragons in his army as the Flamme-de-Gloire breed is native to that land. The most notable is Accendare, who has tustled with Temeraire in the opening of Throne of Jade.
