Species Notes

The name translates as "golden honour," although this breed doesn't happen to be of a yellow or gold colouration. They were red-and-blue barred, as described by observers at the Battle of Dover.

The Honneur-d'Or was one of three parent strands used in the breeding of the Longwing. The other two were the British Sharpspitter and the Russian Ironwing. The Honneur-d'Or's size was the key reason for its use in this breeding programme.
