Biography[edit]
Captain Ivan Rozhkov is a Russian aviator, and captain of a Russian heavy-weight dragon, Vosyem, as well as several white and grey Russian light-weight dragons who served Vosyem, including Grig. Rozhkov also belongs to the Twenty-Sixth Regiment of the Air.
Captain William Laurence described Rozhkov as having "a luxuriant mustache and beard, brown shot through a very little with silver, and a narrow face fixed presently in anger; he held in his hand a peculiar sort of short-whip, with a heavy silver handle". (Blood of Tyrants, p. 326)
Rozhkov acted rudely and coldly to Laurence and Temeraire, accusing them of being spies, and demanded that they leave the covert where Vosyem was resting. He also is very dismissive of Laurence, the English, and the British Aerial Corps, calling Temeraire a "trained dog", and other English dragons "house-pets" and "parrots". Rozhkov also calls Laurence's claims of bringing Chinese allies "fairy tales".
