Biography[edit]

King Frederick (Frederick William III) was the ruler of Prussia at the time of the Napoleonic Wars. William Laurence met him at the Battle of Jena-Auerstadt, and felt he was not as handsome or vivacious as his wife, Queen Louise.

King Frederick was caught up in the chaos that ensued after Lung Tien Lien unleashed the divine wind on the Prussian forces battling Napoleon Bonaparte. He was nearly thrown from his horse.

Later, after meeting with Laurence, Queen Louise, Hohenlohe, Ruchel, Kalkreuth, Scharnhorst and Blucher, he was forced to retreat, with his wife, on the back of Temeraire.
