Biography[edit]
After Barclay de Tolly has been removed from office, Kutuzov takes the first command. He is fighting in a defensive way and doesn't like to fight much more than his predecessor. He is small and fat, wears a sash, decorations and epaulets. He has got white hair, a large face and a high forehead. His nose and chin are tuberous and his cheeks are bloated. One eye is milky, if caused by a desease or an injury is unknown. He wears brilliant white trousers and waistcoats that are too tight for his shape. After he has accepted that the commander of the chinese legions is a dragon, he soon becomes sympathetic. He knows about Laurences reputation but tries to keep it secret as long as possible. He had the idea that Grig could spy out Laurence and Temeraire. Kutuzov pretends his not-fighting as tactics and is successfull with it. He seems to know his business very well. Sometimes he is describes as a bit sluggish.
