Larrakia People

The Larrakia are a group of Australian Aboriginal people living along the northern coast of Australia. They agreed to allow the construction of a Chinese trading post in Larrakia Country, in exchange for a proportion of the goods that passed through.
Notable individuals among the Larrakia include Galandoo, Bimmick, and Lamoorar.
Deviations from History
In modern geography, Larrakia Country is generally described as the area around the present-day city of Darwin, Australia, approximately due south of Melville and Bathurst Islands. The frontispiece map for Tongues of Serpents seems to locate the trading post farther southwest near the mouth of the Daly River, which was in the territory of the Malak Malak people instead.
