Loch Laggan covert
A base in Inverness-shire, Scotland, from which the British Aerial Corps conduct operations. It is one of the largest coverts and considered the best for training. Celeritas was the training master.
The base is located on an old Roman installation that includes baths. These provide a warm, frequently visited environment for unhatched dragon eggs to incubate under close supervision.
Shortly after Temeraire's hatching, he and William Laurence trained at Loch Laggan.

Fungus Cultivation
The Loch Laggan covert became the location for the first European cultivation of the mushrooms which cured the Dragon Plague. It was ideal for this purpose for several reasons: tight security, distance from mainland Europe and pre-existing Roman baths which provided a warm, damp environment.
