Biography

Maila was serving as ambassador to the French, when Temeraire first came upon him aboard a dragon transport ship. He appeared interested in Iskierka but was otherwise unfriendly.

Later, Temeraire learned Maila was lord of the Sapa Inca's ayllu, making him a very important figure in the Incan Empire. He initially refused to bring any of the British representatives to court, save Iskierka.
