Biography
Maximus (Latin for 'greatest') is a Regal Copper who is large even for his breed. His captain, Berkley, often grumbles about his size and how much he ate.
He was hatched at about the same the time as Temeraire, so they trained together and quickly became friends.
Upon returning to England, Temeraire is greatly shocked by Maximus' appearance. He has lost a great deal of weight upon contracting the dragon plague.
