Biography[edit]
Moncey is a dragon Temeraire met while in the Pen Y Fan Breeding Grounds. He was in the breeding grounds because he slipped out of the barn where he was hatched, right past the aviator who was supposed to be his captain. He was feral for a time, but was eventually coaxed into the breeding grounds by promising that there were other dragons for him to talk to.
He is a gregarious creature, and more than willing to do favors for other dragons, such as flying to other places for information, in return for their meal. He is courting Laculla, another dragon in the breeding grounds.
During the invasion of Britain he flew in Temeraire's regiment. He got an epaulette and the rank of captain for command of the couriers.
