The ship's surgeon aboard the HMS Reliant at the time the Amitie is captured. He has a keen interest in dragons and some knowledge of their physiology. He owned or was familiar with several books on the subject, including Badke's Bestiary.
Pollitt also serves as the surgeon onboard the Allegiance, when Tom Riley sails her to China.
