Sanderson was Animosia's captain. He was as senior a Captain as Jane Roland, and would have been up for Admiral in charge of the Dover covert, but took Animosia's sickness very hard, and was exceedingly emotional. He was a veteran of nine fleet actions, and about sixty years old. Animosia had to be dosed several times with the cure but still fared poorly after the epidemic.
