Talk:Akhal-Teke
the horse akhal-teke is known as the golden horse. Maybe we has to change the dragon image even because if I remember well, (n' I'm not sure) in the books it isn't explained
I recognized the name as a horse breed but didn't look at any pictures of the horses when I colored it. Most of the dragons are named after butterflies so this one is unusual. It is almost a gold color right now. :) I have some metallic pencils. They look good on paper but do not scan well, and since we do not have a good description of the dragon and I like the current pattern, I am going to leave my rendering alone. You are more than welcome to post your own rendition. We need more art. --Mooir 21:21, 2 June 2008 (PDT)
I was just reading the wikipedia article on Akhal-Teke and it says the translation of Akhal is pure not celestial. Where did you find your translation? It also says the breed was named Akhal-Teke by a Russian General in 1881. Maybe the horses are named after the dragons in the Temeraire world since it is only about 1807. --Mooir 21:37, 2 June 2008 (PDT)
