Breed

Is Dulcia really the same breed as Volly? I can't recall any mention of her being a bit simple, and a courier size dragon would seem a bit small to be worth adding to Lily's formation. Can anyone provide a reference to back this up? Andrew 01:26, 3 January 2008 (PST)

I think when her breed is mentioned, she's called a grey copper which elsewhere is said to be another name for the greyling. A greyling does seem to be a smallish dragon for a formation, but I think the main reason she was added was because of experience instead of size. Maybe there is more variation in the grey copper/greyling breed than in other breeds? Mooir 12:52, 5 January 2008 (PST)

The experience factor is part of the reason I'm surprised she could be the same breed. Can a dragon who's contribution to conversation is of the level of "I like cow" bring experience? And I'm sure Dulcia isn't simple like Volly, doesn't she make contributions to the geometry debate in EoI? Is Volly unusual in his level of intelligence? I'd always assumed the simplicity was a trait of the breed, but perhaps it's an individual problem? Andrew 04:54, 6 January 2008 (PST)

It would be nice if someone found the page on which it's stated that Greyling is another name for Grey Copper. I couldn't find it anywhere. Moreover, I could swear that when I read the books Grey Copper was described as 'greenish', but I can't find this one either ;) Natli 10:35, 7 January 2008 (PST)
