Is the Reliant a ship of the line? On the first page of HMD, the 36 gun Amitie is referred to as being "slightly outgunned" by the Reliant (a third-rate ship of the line would have at least 64 guns). I'm not recalling a specific mention, though...
I don't think so. On page 73, Laurence tells Martin than the Amitie was a 36 gun frigate. And, I think, 30 more guns is more than "slightly." - Strangerface 15:56, 29 September 2006 (PDT)
