| − | I'm not sure, but after re-reading Throne of Jade I get the impression that Granby did not refuse to become captain to Obversaria's egg, but to become Lloyd's replacement as Excidium's first lieutenant. It would still be a promotion, because Excidium is a formation leader with 70 years of experience. But since English is not my first language, I would be grateful if someone confirmed it. The passage is on page 15 in my edition.
