Alternate Captain?[edit]

Considering the events of Black Powder War, would Napoleon be considered her new Captain? And speaking of that, would it be more appropriate to list the Chinese dragons as having Companions instead of Captains? JediAutobot 15:57, 13 March 2007 (PDT)

What now for Lien?[edit]

Lien's original motivation for allying herself with the French, as explained in BPW, was to destroy everything Temeraire loved and valued, leaving him alone and friendless. In VOE, that plan seems to have gone somewhat awry. First Temeraire threatened to join the French himself if the British government had Laurence executed. Now the government has exiled him and Laurence to Australia. It's as if the British government is trying to beat Lien out for the privilege of making Temeraire's life miserable. Is she beginning to wonder why she's bothering to do all this nasty and unCelestial fighting? Or if she should abandon Napoleon and go see what trouble she can cause in Australia? Name[edit]

Her personal name may possibly be 蓮, "lotus"-- Pinyin lián, Wade-Giles lien2 --Wombat1138 21:56, 14 August 2010 (PDT)

Poem?[edit]

Although it does make sense that she should write such a thing, I don't actually recall it saying anywhere that Lien actually wrote the poem on the wall at the Chinese Border. Can anyone clarify this? Almaron 17:35, 17 August 2010 (PDT)

Also, the page currently says that Lien was born "about thirty years ago". What book is this from (I want to update it to read a specific date; i.e, c.1775)? Almaron 20:30, 18 August 2010 (PDT)

"Lien was some thirty years of age to Temeraire’s two"--Black Powder War. This is also repeated in Victory of Eagles, as explanation for why her roar is more powerful than his. -- Strangerface 07:02, 19 August 2010 (PDT)
