Date of birth
This comes directly from the author. Generally, we're gonna stick to the books, but a baseline date (so we can at least achieve close guesses at other dates relative to it) was really important to establish, and she kindly gave us the information.

Oh! That's extremely helpful. I read that you wanted dates on the other discussion page and I thought "but I don't know when anything happens." --strangerface
Is it all right that I added this image? I found it in the file uploads. -- strangerface 9/20/06
The image is fine for now -- we're still figuring things out re using artwork and such, but we do have permission.
I've added in a chunk in the free text at the bottom with Temeraire's Chinese name, Lung Tien Xiang. Should this be added to the top stats section too? And perhaps an entry on the "Dragons" list page for Lung Tien Xiang? --Andrew 05:55, 10 January 2007 (PST)
- Good call. Done! -whitearrow 10:21, 10 January 2007 (PST)
I would do this myself but my Wiki knowledge is not at this level. Do you think that instead of having a separate page for Lung Tien Xiang that is should redirect to Temeraire's page? JediAutobot 14:44, 14 March 2007 (PDT)
Good idea. Done. For future reference, this is how it works.
To redirect a page A to a different page B , enter the following redirecting command at the top of redirecting page.
#REDIRECT [[NAME OF PAGE B]]

Asking for more information
I found this web site trying to look up how to pronounce Temeraire. It took me a long while before I fount a place to enter a message, I haven't figured out this discussion, nor how to start a new Wiki page yet.
What I'd like to see is a page where someone pronounced the various names in English, French, and Mandarin, and we could click on those and hear the pronunciation.
We're not really set up here to accomodate audio files, but if someone would like to record, we can link to them. In English, Temeraire is pronounced TEM-er-air, if that helps. In French, the accent symbols indicate to me it would be more like TAY-mayr-air. - whitearrow 15:44, 28 August 2007 (PDT)
This is an ideal example of what I'm talking about on the discussion for the Articles to be Expanded page. As far as this wiki is concerned this is already a fairly long article, and as he's the lead character anyone who thinks they have something important to add about him isn't going to be shy about editing the page anyway. Removing the expand lessens the clutter on the special page. Andrew 05:28, 21 December 2007 (PST)
