Yes, the phrase "topman" is a nautical term. (And don't think I'm some sort of nautical smartie, I just looked it up now.) A topman is someone who serves in the top which is defined as "a platform surrounding the head of a lower mast on a ship, and serving as a foothold, a means of extending the upper rigging, etc." -- [[User:Strangerface|Strangerface]] 20:03, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
