Hey there! I'm Almaron, and I'm a Temeraire Fan who is slightly annoyed that the Wiki for it is incomplete. As a result, I've joined to help out wherever I can. Mostly, I add notes to each section if I find something missing, and every now and then I write an entire page worth of text to fill a blank page. So, basically, I fix the odd bit of information when I feel like it. I generally check this wiki every day, to see if there's something new to work on.

At the moment, no real forum exists for us to debate various parts of the Temeraire canon, and so I've tidied up my user page so we can use the discussion page for that purpose (or so someone can point out a mistake I've made).

== Book Synopses ==

So far, I've written up the synopses for the following books or stories in the Temeraire series;

I wrote these by reading quickly through the books, so there is a chance I have erred in several places, or gone into too much detail making some parts a bit clunky (Parts of Black Powder War could probably do with some tidying up). Feel free to edit them and fix them if you notice a problem.
I also typed up the page for the [[Temeraire Drabbles]], but the story text was written by Naomi Novik, not me.

== Things I've Worked On ==

*[[Dragon Breeds]] - The second half of the page; I sorted the breeds by country and weight classification, where known.
*[[Temeraire]] - Added two charts detailing Temeraire's family and Lily's formation, based off the information given in the books and some speculation on my part. They are listed further down the page.
*[[Li-Lung]] - A dragon breed, the page was written based on that the name is known to have been used ([[Lung Li Po]]) and that an unnamed purple dragon breed seen in China is a prime candidate for the name; the word Li meaning Plum (as documented by [[User:Wombat1138]]).
*I've suggested that the Shen-Lung page be re-titled, as the other breed names (e.g. [[Celestial]], [[Imperial]], [[Jade]]), are all english translations of the Chinese words (Tien, Qin and Yu respectively). At this time, [[User:Wombat1138]] has done research into possible Chinese names for the breeds we only have the English name for; her notes can be seen on the talk pages for [[Shen-Lung]], [[Emerald Glass]], and [[Scarlet Flower]].
*I've also added a new section to the story pages, noting the specific changes from our history in the Temeraire stories, such as how [[Nelson]] survives the [[Battle of Trafalgar]], or how [[Napoleon Bonaparte]] invades Britain in 1807, both fictional occurences.
*I also added various notes about several characters including the Yellow Emperor and Raiden, mentioning how they were based off elements of mythology (The Yellow Emperor turning into a dragon at the end of his realm, and Raiden, a japanese god of thunderstorms thought to be behind the storms that decimated Kublai Khan's fleets).

*A map! I made a map of how the world looked in the early 1800s (probably with one or two errors) that can be easily edited as we get more information about the series, or to better detail an area. A full list of sources and licensing and stuff exists on my talk page.

:Reasoning for this;
:*Because in this reasoning, Grandfather was the first Celestial of the Qing Dynasty, I have assumed that all the Celestials have been Imperial Consorts. Hence, Qian must be the elder of Chu.
:*This rendition suits Qian's words more, in that they are all cousins at most. In the previous chart, Only Lien, Chu & Temeraire were cousins, the rest were siblings.
:*The placement of the Emperors is conjectural, and based on guessing who would be the elder sibling. The brackets around numbers indicate the start of their reign.
:*Ming and Zhi's placement is conjectural, they could be siblings, or one could be the father of the other, which I think is more likely.

Pro: Better suits Qian's statement that "they are all cousins", and also shows each "adult" Celestial has had at least one child, as would be assumed for a family this old.
Cons: In this, Lien is not an "elder cousin" to Temeraire.
