Valerie

Along with the Chanteuse and a Fleur-de-Nuit, the Valerie attacked the HMS Allegiance under the cover of night, while it was journeying to China. The Allegiance was out gunned and out numbered and it was in very great danger of being taken, until Temeraire used the Divine Wind against the Valerie and sunk her instantly. The loss of life was very great.

The Valerie's sinking along with the arrival of Lily's formation took the heart out of the Chanteuse crew, and they surrendered.
