Referred to by Sir Edward Howe as a "great sire," Conquistador was a Spanish dragon of the Cauchador Real breed. He was brought to England as part of the dowry of Eleanor of Castille in the 13th century. The scholar Roger Bacon first suggested breeding Conquistador with female Bright Coppers. The progeny were known as Regal Coppers, one of the largest known dragon breeds.
