The Newfoundland breeding ground is located in the Colony of Newfoundland, an island off the eastern shore of Canada. This is where the Dakota dragon Temeraire saw on the HMS William of Orange had just come from, and where Praecursoris was sent, after his captain, Jean-Paul Choiseul, was executed.
